Revamping your lighting can be a relatively inexpensive change that earns you savings over the long haul, and we make the initial expense easier to absorb with incentives when you replace specific high-energy use bulbs, ballasts, or fixtures with specific low-energy use items. Participating members who meet the requirements of this program are eligible to receive a rebate that may not exceed 50% of the total project cost, up to a total maximum of $15,000. This is 1 more way your cooperative reinforces its dedication to energy efficiency, the environment, and commitment to the community.
Specific Requirements
This program is applicable to commercial and industrial business facilities only. Residential applications are not eligible.
Pre-approval of the project by Paulding Putnam (PP) prior to installation is required. Pre-approval of applicable projects is obtained through submission by email of a completed C&I Custom Lighting Rebate application by Paulding Putnam.
Eligibility For Rebate
- To qualify, lighting at the facility must be used a minimum of 1,800 hours per year.
- Program is applicable for new construction, facility additions, or installation of additional lighting.
- Re-lamping of existing fixtures is allowable for a rebate only if it includes a technology upgrade. (e.g., incandescent lamp to CFL; fluorescent lighting to LED). Re-lamping to a lower wattage of the same general type of bulb is not applicable to this program.
- Existing equipment must be operational when the pre-approval application is submitted. Existing equipment must be removed or permanently disconnected.
- Equipment must be installed at a commercial or industrial facility that receives its electric power from a participating Ohio electric cooperative.
- All equipment must be new. Used or rebuilt equipment is not eligible.
- All projects must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and building codes.
Conditions of Rebate
- Funding is limited and subject to availability.
- Projects must be completed between January 1 through June 30.
- The Cooperative will need to do an onsite visit in order to confirm the installation of the project as submitted.
- All pre-approval applications must have complete information in order to be considered.
- Final request for a rebate must be done by accessing the Buckeye private website and entering data online.
- Rebate is paid as a one-time, one-program offer and cannot be combined with other incentive payments or programs for additional funding of this project.
- Only 1 incentive will be granted for each facility. Only 1 incentive per facility per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) is allowed.
Rebate
- Rebate amount is calculated at the rate of $1 per watt reduced based upon lamp wattages (not fixture wattages). Rebate may not exceed 50% of project cost (excluding labor), up to a total maximum rebate amount of $15,000. Paulding Putnam only has an allotted amount of funding for this program. Once funds are depleted, the next round of rebates will occur in the following year.
- Rebate Funding Process: Rebate amount when installing LEDs for new construction or new addition to an existing facility is calculated at the rate of $1 per watt reduced, using industry benchmark for watts reduced, assuming approximately 30% savings factor calculated (LED Watts/ (1-.30) – LED Watts=Watts Reduced (rounded down to 0 decimal places.) Rebates may not exceed 50% of project costs (excluding labor) and up to $15,000 maximum rebate per project per year.
