Board Re-Districting for More Equitable Representation Among Membership

Map titled “Board Districts 2024” showing service territory across parts of Ohio and Indiana, divided into nine color-coded districts labeled 1 to 9. Each district contains multiple townships with member counts noted. A legend lists board representatives and total active members per district, generally ranging from about 1,000 to 1,800. County names (including Defiance, Paulding, Van Wert, Putnam, and Allen in Ohio, and Adams and Allen in Indiana) are labeled, and the Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative logo appears in the lower right.

The Board of Trustees has formally approved a redistricting initiative to more equally spread the number of members across each district in our territory. Members affected will see this on their March bill.

What's changing?
Scipio, Maumee, Jefferson, and Jackson townships in Allen County, IN, are moving from District 5 to District 3, and Crane Township in Paulding County, OH, is moving from District 3 to District 4.

Want to learn what district you are in?
At the top right corner of your electric bill (along with your substation and other information), you will see your district listed.

Sample electric utility bill from Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative showing account details, billing summary, and total amount due. The layout includes the member name and account number, billing date, board district, and contact information. A billing summary lists previous balance, payments received, and current charges, with a total due of $108 highlighted in a circular graphic and scheduled for credit card draft on April 9, 2024. Sections for service summary and a message center are included, with “Example Bill” displayed prominently at the bottom.
This is a sample member bill, showing you where to find your board district, located at top right (higlighted area). Your substation is also listed here, which can be helpful during large outages.

Why is this re-delineation necessary?
Due to recent growth in Indiana, this will allow for more equitable representation among members in each district.

You can learn more about the changes by calling our office at (800) 686-2357, or contacting your district board trustee using the "ask a question" form on the Board of Trustees page.
