Casey’s Kitchen Serves Up Homemade Treats With Heart

For Casey Dowler, baking has always been about more than desserts — it’s about bringing people together.

Owner of the at-home bakery Casey’s Kitchen and a Paulding Putnam member, Casey balances her growing baking business alongside a full-time career in education. An educator for more than 25 years and currently principal at Crestview Early Childhood Center, she describes Casey’s Kitchen as her “side hustle,” built from passion and family tradition.

Casey and her husband, Stephen, have been married for 25 years and raised 2 daughters, Morgan and Sydney. As a farmer’s wife, Casey has spent years preparing meals and delivering food to the fields during busy planting and harvest seasons. Her love of cooking was inspired by family traditions and treasured recipes shared by her mother-in-law, teaching her the value of bringing people together through homemade meals.

While raising her daughters, Casey’s passion for baking grew. “When we started our family, I fell in love with cooking and baking while raising our girls,” she says. “My girls and I loved making dishes together.”

Over the years, she became known for bringing homemade dishes and sweets to family gatherings, school events, and workplace carry-ins. In the summer of 2025, she officially began advertising and taking orders for Casey’s Kitchen.

With both daughters graduated and life a little less hectic, Casey found herself looking for a new creative outlet.

“I enjoy putting a smile on someone’s face when they pick up 1 of my custom orders,” she says. “There is just something that makes me smile, knowing that I was able to brighten someone’s day.”

Today, Casey’s Kitchen offers a wide variety of homemade baked goods, all made from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Her menu includes chocolate chip cookies, frosted sugar cookies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, homemade breads, cakes, and customer-requested specialty orders.

Among her most popular items are homemade pies, available in flavors such as strawberry, sugar cream, apple, peach, pecan, cherry, pumpkin, and chocolate. Her cinnamon rolls and frosted sugar cookies are both made from treasured Dowler family recipes and have also developed a loyal following.

Seasonal specialties keep customers coming back, too. Holiday assortments with unique packaging, chocolate-covered strawberries, buckeyes, and themed dessert boxes have become favorites.

Casey also offers gluten-free options, including cookies, cinnamon rolls, pies, and brownies. “Customers have raved about my gluten-free products,” she says.

This summer, Casey’s Kitchen will feature strawberry and peach pies, along with another returning favorite — zucchini bread made with zucchini from Casey’s own garden. “I love using home-grown products in my baked goods,” she says.

Beyond everyday treats, Casey’s Kitchen takes custom orders for birthdays, graduations, bridal showers, and catered events. She recommends placing most orders at least a week in advance, while larger catering requests are best scheduled about a month ahead.

To place an order or follow along with Casey’s latest creations, customers can call or text (419) 786-0263 or visit the Casey’s Kitchen Facebook page.

For Casey, every order is still rooted in the same joy that started in her family kitchen years ago — sharing something homemade with the people around her.
