Board Elections

Interested in running for our board of trustees and shaping the strategic direction of the cooperative?

The Paulding Putnam Board of Trustees consists of nine co-op members who each represent one district within the territory served by Paulding Putnam. The trustees are responsible for establishing, reviewing, and revising corporate policies to ensure that service to the Paulding Putnam membership is foremost in mind while maintaining a stable yet competitive position in the industry by setting rate structures.

Each trustee serves a three-year term and either must seek re-election again after the term or retire. Elections are held annually by the membership prior to the Annual Meeting in March.

DISTRICTS UP FOR ELECTION:

For 2025-2026, board districts up for election are 1, 6 & 9.

  •  District 1 - Marion, Madison, Monroe, Preble, and Union Townships in Allen and Adams counties, Indiana. This position is held by Joseph Kohnen (incumbent), who is seeking re-election.
  •  District 6 - Auglaize, Brown, Latty, and Washington Townships in Paulding County, Ohio; Defiance and Highland Townships in Defiance County, Ohio. This position is held by John Saxton (incumbent), who is seeking re-election.
  •  District 5 - Union, Sugar Creek, Pleasant, Riley, and Ottawa Townships in Putnam County, Ohio. This position is held by Ronald Black (incumbent), who is seeking re-election.

HOW TO RUN FOR THE BOARD:

The election process begins with a petition form. Any Paulding Putnam member who resides in the districts up for election who wishes to be considered as a trustee candidate may pick up the required petition from the cooperative office or download one. You need 20 signatures of support from members in your district to run.

Petition forms will be available starting Nov. 17, 2025 (scroll to the bottom of this page). The petition packet submission deadline is Dec. 17, 2025. Petitions can be emailed to skuhn@ppec.coop or can be mailed to our office (but must be postmarked by the correct deadline). Each one will be verified, and only those candidates who have met all the requirements will be placed on the ballot. The official ballots will be mailed to members in the districts up for election in February.

The winners of the election will be announced at our virtual annual meeting on March 28, 2026.

Obtaining a Petition:

In addition to downloading a petition online (see below), a paper petition may be picked up at our office located at 401 McDonald Pike, Paulding, Ohio 45879. You can call and request one be mailed to you as well.

If you aren’t sure what district you live in, please review the district map on the Trustees page.
