Yesterday (June 20, 2022), PPEC's two linemen returned home from the Frontier Power Company, a cooperative located in Coshocton, Ohio. After last Monday, June 20's storm, Frontier Power lost power to about 90% of their system - approximately 3,7000 of their members were in the dark when our crew left to assist them with restoration efforts.
Crew Leader Zak Kauser and Lineman Terry Minic spent more than 5 days away from their families helping restore power and clean up damage from downed trees and broken poles in the area. They are both now home safe, and Frontier Power is proud to announce that as of June 20, 2022, all their members are restored.
PPEC participates in mutual aid efforts when other utilities need assistance after large storms. One of the 7 Cooperative Principles is "Cooperation Among Co-ops," so helping others is PPEC's way of paying it forward -- and preparing for a time in the future when we may also need other crews aid from neighboring co-ops.
