We are not expecting a shortage of power; we are simply asking members to reduce energy consumption during peak usage to help save our members money over time and keep our rates as low as possible. What should you do during a peak alert? Conserve or delay energy use between around 2-7 pm during the peak if possible, when electricity costs the most. *Peak time may vary, depending on weather.

🌡️ Delay hot water use, showering, washing clothes, etc., until later in the day or do them before the afternoon hits.

🌡️ Turn off unnecessary lights.

🌡️Cook with the microwave rather than the oven, which uses more energy (or grill out... you can even choose to go out to eat instead)

🌡️ Tap the A/C a notch up a few degrees.

How much does this help?

This list shows approximately how much it costs the cooperative when you have one of these items on during a peak hour. This is a cost we continue to pay every month on our wholesale power bill — even long after the month you used the item during the peak hour.
